Electronic seal in rSeal remote mode

The service, which is a qualified electronic seal in remote mode, allows the company (institution) to obtain the possibility of affixing electronic seals on any document. It is therefore not necessary to purchase certified HSM equipment (without the need for servicing, safety management etc.).

Electronic seal – start-up

Prior to launching the service, it is necessary to sign a contract specifying, among other things, the scope of a possible implementation service. In addition, it is important to establish details of the expected number of seals to be affixed and the associated guaranteed performance of the service.

Electronic seal in remote mode

  • The electronic seal in remote mode allows a fast implementation of an efficient system for affixing electronic seals. The e-Stamp does not force the purchase of costly security infrastructure;
  • the e-Stamp in remote mode has all the features and advantages of a “normal” electronic seal;
  • the electronic seal in remote mode is secure in the organizational aspect. This confirms the eIDAS certificate, which includes a qualified remote seal service
  • the e-seal is a technically safe tool as the HSM device we use has a special certificate. The certificate confirms compliance with the QSCD security requirements, and thus includes the use of the device for the implementation of the remote electronic seal tool by a qualified entity on behalf of the client
  • The electronic seal, which is important for every user, is also secure in terms of personal data protection. This security is important and crucial also in relation to other information contained in documents, because only cryptographic digests of documents are sent to our server. They are stamped and the documents themselves are not sent to us.

eIDAS Regulation

Electronic seal on the customer’s HSM

The service of issuing a qualified certificate for electronic seals on the client’s HSM allows the company or institution to launch its own environment for issuing qualified electronic seals.

Due to the fact that when issuing a certificate for qualified seals, we must not only verify the identity of the company/institution, but also confirm that the key for affixing the seal is embedded on a device with a QSCD certificate, the procedure for issuing such a certificate is more complicated than the procedure for issuing a seal on the card we issue.

When starting the certification procedure, the client should make sure that its HSM device is QSCD certified. In the current state of law, according to Commission Implementing Decision 2016/650, this means that the device must be certified as Common Criteria according to the certification profile according to EN 419 211.

The fulfilment of certification requirements of the QSCD device is confirmed by us on the basis of provided documentation.

After checking the formal requirements and concluding an agreement, the procedure provides for the generation of keys for affixing the seal on the client’s HSM, in the presence of our authorised employee. During the visit, we also confirm the compliance of the device with the documentation.

Based on the generated key, we issue a qualified certificate.
